Steven Metz has over twenty years experience in the world of fine art. A former gallery owner and consultant to museums such as the National Gallery of Art in Washington, D.C. . With a broad background in many types of fine art and collectibles saw the need for a one stop shopping appraisal firm.

Gathering together fellow colleagues in the appraisal field he created Metz & Company. Using a team approach and a large network of fine art professionals we can provide accurate valuations for our clients. We have over 10 experts is several fields. We are not dealers or auction houses and have no vested interest in selling you auction services or pressure you to sell your  works.

Many collectors have a strategy for collecting by no exit strategy for their collections. We can help with our estate planning services. We place important collections in the museums where the work will be appreciated and not stuck in the basement. In many instances it may be beneficial to donate the works or set up a private foundation rather than sell the works at auction generating a large capital gains tax.
